Six major industrial disasters were reported in India between January and April 2026, resulting in at least 71 confirmed deaths and 80 injuries. The incidents occurred across Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, and multi-state contractor networks, affecting sectors such as power, steel, mining, industrial gases, and chemicals, and exposing systemic failures in safety, maintenance and regulatory oversight.
